Centrifuges

A Centrifuge is the most energy efficient
machine for separating solid from liquid. The filtration type
of Centrifuge has a rotating basket on which the filter media is
supported. The slurry is fed inside the rotating basket. Due to the
centrifugal force the liquid is forced out through the filter media
while the solid is retained inside the rotating basket. Hence
generally, higher the centrifugal force better the dryness of
solids.
The Centrifugal Force in ‘G’ units is proportional
to :
(Diameter of basket) X (Speed of
Basket)2
Our Centrifuges are designed for
Solid / Liquid Separation. Normally they are used for the
following process conditions:
- Solid Content of 2 – 75 %
- Particle Size distribution of 5 micron to several mm.
- Slurry Temperature of -10 to 80 oC
- For sticky / Hard / Crystalline / amorphous materials
We can also supply Centrifuges for other typical
process conditions.
